MANUFACTURING PROCESS
ENGINEER – LANGLEY, BC

Collect, analyze and report on performance metrics for all processes to drive continuous improvement activities.
• Evaluate root-causes to manufacturing issues and develop unique solutions.
• Design manufacturing equipment, jigs and fixtures with a focus on quality, cost, capacity, automation, and preventative maintenance.
• Review Engineering Designs, BOMs, 3D models and quality specifications in order to translate the intent and expectation of the product design into the manufacturing process
• Use digital tools like Syspro and Microsoft PowerPoint to create work instructions that effectively communicate how to produce and assemble parts at a production pace
• Use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft BI to generate reports and plan day to day tasks
• Thrive in an environment that requires high-level communication to Technical and Trades type employees
• Provide leadership to the organization by organizing activities, communicating knowledge of and demonstrating competence in applying Lean Manufacturing principles

SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor degree in Applied Science, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years relevant work experience in a similar capacity.
• Be able to read drawings, BOMs, and have knowledge of inspection methodology and inspection tools
• Have good computer skills; capable of working with MS Office, knowledge of 3D CAD or Solidworks.
• Prepares Process Flow Charts, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis) documents, Control Plans and Work Instructions.
• Utilizes LEAN, Six Sigma, and other best practice tools and principles for day-to-day problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Be able to communicate and manage your time as part of a high-functioning team
• Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.

SWING SHIFT LEAD – WOODLAND, WA

Redwood Plastics and Rubber is seeking a Swing Shift Lead to join our growing team.
Redwood Swing Shift Leads work 4 days per week and 10 hrs per day (Mon – Thu). Our Leads are decisive, demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and are passionate about teaching our team members. Primary responsibilities include monitoring and improving product quality, human productivity, delivery methods, technical processes, safety, and minimizing cost. Focus should be placed on collaborating with other supervisors, management, and other team leads to achieve company goals and KPI’s. As a Lead, your decisions will directly impact manufacturing and therefore the success of our team and the company.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Balance excellent safe working habits with a healthy sense of urgency.
• Embrace collaboration, accept suggestions, and drive the team towards a mentality of continual improvement.

• Specific experience in machining plastic is a huge asset.
• Mastercam/CAD Experience preferred.
• Haas Lathes and Mills preferred.
• Multi-axis experience preferred.
• Sub Spindle and complex setup experience preferred.
• Experience in machining steels and other metals preferred.
• 2+ years of direct supervisory experience in manufacturing preferred.

Primary responsibilities include reading and analyzing blueprints, reading G-Code, machining plastics and steel, communicating material and/or program needs, and executing quality control. Focus should be placed on collaborating with supervisors, management, and other team members to achieve company goals and KPI’s. As a CNC Lathe Operator, your decisions will directly impact manufacturing and therefore the success of our team and the company.

INSIDE SALES – SPOKANE, WA

The Inside Sales Department works cooperatively with our outside sales team, Manufacturing Planning Department, Logistics Department, and other departments of our company to grow existing customers, create new customers, and meet or exceed monthly sales budgets at the appropriate gross margin while increasing customer satisfaction.

• Utilize relationship selling/customer focused selling techniques by working closely with customers to solve their problems, increase their profits and/or increase their productivity
• Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely matter
• Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions based on cost, availability, or specifications to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability
• Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, and add-on sales
• Present price, credit, and terms in accordance with procedures and customer’s profitability profiles
• Accurately process customer transactions such as orders and quotes
• Utilize materials to maintain accurate inventory
• Send manufactured orders through the Manufacturing Planning Department
• Perform distribution item estimating and complete order entry/pick lists
• Monitor scheduled ship dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed
• Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products
• Fill requests for information or samples
• Utilize CRM System effectively. Daily updates include: customer profiles, customer files, add sales notes and “deals.”

• Follow up on quotations and customer related items in a timely fashion
• Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any issues
• Complete all levels of training – including IAPD Education Programs and in-house product and sales training.
• Gather competitor information and other market information
• Work closely with our vendors/suppliers to assist company and customer needs
• Perform other duties as assigned
